The Laura Walker Foundation

Supporting those who take in Sibling Groups through Foster Care

Have you opened your home to foster a sibling group?  You may be eligible to apply for a financial award through the

Laura Walker Foundation.

The Laura Walker Foundation was created to support families who open their homes to sibling groups, ensuring brothers and sisters are not separated in foster care.

Our goal is to increase the number of homes available for sibling groups so that these children are not faced with the additional trauma of separation.

The Story Behind the Mission

The Laura Walker Foundation was created in honor of Laura Walker and the children whose story continues to inspire this mission.  What began in heartbreak has become a commitment to keeping sibling groups connected, supported, and cared for.

Laura Walker was taken from this earth at the young age of 33 due to domestic violence. As a result, her four children were separated from one another because no home was willing to take them all in together.

    How we help

Essential Supplies for Foster Sibling Groups

Many children entering foster care arrive with very few personal belongings. We provide comfort and practical support by donating essentials to sibling groups entering new homes as well as throughout their stay.

Suggested donations include: toiletries, stuffed animals, night lights, school supplies, new clothing, coats, blankets, towels, luggage, toys, gift cards, games, brushes, and journals

    Future Family-Style Homes for Siblings

We are working toward creating family-style foster homes, whether it's short-term or long-term, designed for sibling groups. Our vision is to offer safe, stable, and supportive places where siblings can remain together and experience comfort, continuity, and care.
